Supervision

Working With Individuals and Organisations

Along with providing affirmative, anti-oppressive counselling and psychotherapy incorporating an intersectional perspective, I am also a qualified clinical supervisor who provides a more targeted form of supervision for both individual clinicians and organisations working with marginalised people. My supervision practice includes a focus on intersectional discrimination and how to provide effective counselling and psychotherapy for adults, adolescents, and children from LGBTQIA+, working class and racialised communities.

Having spent nearly 40 years working both therapeutically and politically with traumatised people from marginalised groups within the education, charity and community sectors, I am in a unique position to help you/your organisation improve the nature of your practice.

How Supervision Works

I am part of an independent supervisor network. I work for a range of individuals, from clinicians to youth workers to case workers, as well as therapy/counselling in private practice. The emphasis of my supervision is to approach therapeutic practice from an intersectional, non-discriminatory, affirmative perspective.

The intersectional lens is rarely employed in the field of supervision. My work is grounded in years of work within marginalised/racialised communities, as well as LGBTQIA+ and QTIBPOC organisations and communities across London. The supervision I provide is geared towards broadening your general understanding of the differing perspectives and social location of those from marginalised communities, how this impacts them, and my work also at times challenges conventional heteronormative and Eurocentric approaches to counselling or psychotherapy that can ignore crucial developmental factors underpinning mental health issues which many marginalised clients and communities experience.

I can provide regular clinical supervision sessions, discussing the issues arising out of our work together at intervals that suit our work together.

Fees

Supervision fees range between £76 - £121 for individuals, or £90 - £180 for a group or triad sharing costs. I have a few lower cost supervision spaces reserved for trainees and newly qualified therapists,

My fees for individual supervisees funded by organisations range between £76 - £121 the lower end of this fee scale is reserved for funded organisations working with marginalised communities in the charity or youthwork sectors.

Supervision sessions are usually contracted for specifically. Please Get in touch with me to learn more about the intersectional clinical supervision service I provide to individuals and organisations.
